Will we race

Well just like last week I'm worried again about racing on Saturday. 50-60% chance of rain from now to Friday doesn't look good for Ponca. Maybe they didn't get that much rain last week and the trail can handle a little rain. Will have to see.

Riding has been not to bad. No dirt to be found only mud. So its been city trails and gravel roads for me. Last Sunday Harp and I almost rode 50 miles on gravel. Lots of hills west of here. As for the city trails I just try to find whatever I can. I've been riding to work now so that helps me get miles in. I ride from the south shop to 84th and Van Dorn. The ride is about 9 miles and I usually try to fit a few more in on my way back.

Here is a few pics from Sunday's ride.

Lost already

Final stop before home. No we didn't stop at the Ding just the gas station next to it.

New grips. Hopefully I can test them out this weekend at Ponca.

Yesterday after work I was able to ride for about an hour on city trails again. I wanted to go longer to get a good feel for riding in the heat but I also didn't want to over do it either before Saturday. I rode out to Wilderness from Pioneers to see what the trail was like. Its was wet. I know anyone could of told me that but I had to check it out just in case. I headed back to Pioneers to do a lap around the park. What I should of been doing this week was riding hills. Like the ones at Pioneers. I know Ponca has a lots of climbing and that's one of my weaknesses. I really need to work harder on the hills.

Later that night Jackie went out for a walk with her mom and Payton to Pioneers park. Once she got back she needed some stuff from the supermarket. So Payton and I headed into town to get things. Once we were heading out of the driveway we notice some nice storm clouds to the west. Western Nebraska was getting hammered my thunderstorms. Nothing to serious got close to us but we decided to take a longer route to the store and maybe get some good pictures of the storm. We pulled over west of Denton to take in the amazing view. Lighting started to pickup and I was trying to catch some strikes with my camera. No luck on the lighting but I got some cool pictures of the clouds and Payton. She really enjoys the storms which is awesome. We finally made it to the store after stopping by a friends house who use to chase storms with me back in the day. Now he watches the storms from his house just like me. So once we got home Jackie wondered why a 30 min job took 2-1/2 hours to do. I just told her we had a father and daughter night. You can't ask for a better night than that.

Pictures from last night and my ride at Pioneers.
Checking out the storm.
