Well I was able to ride Wagon Train again this week. This time I rode with Rob and Scott from work. As we were starting to get ready to head onto the trail Steve(one of the guys that helps Jim Craig take care of the trails) ask if we wanted a tour. Off we went on some new trails on the north loop. He told us they added about another mile of trails on the loop. Before it was like 3 miles now its a little over 4. Some of the new stuff was like area 7 but not as rough and not all of it was in the open grass. Towards the end of the loop they added more trails closer to the lake. That new section was a little tighter and had a few log crossing. Hopefully next time I go out I can figure out how to find the right trails.
After we rode a lap on the North Loop Rob, Scott, and I headed over to the east side trails. On Monday the trails were nice and smooth. Friday the horse's got on them again and some spots where kinds of rough. Nothing like what we saw at area 7 but it still sucks. Sounds like they have troubles with one of the horse owners in the area. He likes to ride after it rains.
After taking the guys around the east side they ended up heading out and I kept going for a bit. I was able to meet up with Steve again and talk about possible races out there this fall. Sounds like Jim and Steve have a few ideas. I just hope it all works out.
As for today I was hoping for an early ride with Justin on some trails or gravel. But it ended up raining so now I'm not sure what to do. I want to ride so bad that I might just ride city rails for a couple hours. If I had a road bike I wouldn't have this problem. Sounds like Adrian and a few others are heading out for a good 60 mile road ride. I need rides like that. Hopefully next year I'll have a road bike.
