Getting close

Things are looking good for Hayden this week. She if breathing 100% on her own and really all we need to do is get the nursing thing down and we should be able to come home soon. Really we should be home by this weekend or even sooner but will have to see. I ended up going to Omaha yesterday because Jackie was a little under the weather. I was glad I did because now Jackie will have to start nursing and she'll have to be in Omaha everyday. Hopefully that will only be for a few days.

I still can't believe this is finally coming to an end. What a ride. On Sunday I was holding her and watching all these other little babies having the troubles and the nurses and doctors scratching their heads about what to do. That was us for about 3 months and it was good to sit and not have to worry about all that stuff anymore. We also know its going to be a different road for Hayden and our family when she comes home. But the doctors say she'll be as normal as any other girl.

As for riding. Not much is happening since Friday. I rode with Jason for a few hours at Wagon Train. A storm was coming in and I wanted to get as much dirt time in that I could. But by the sounds of Harps blog the trails might be ok right now. Anyway I plan on stopping by Wilderness on my way home for about an hour and hopefully a few times this week. That might change when Hayden comes home. I also would like to get a good ride in on Saturday if it stays dry.

Oh I also got my 4th flat on Friday at Wagon Train. That's 2 flats at Wagon Train and 2 at Wilderness. I had this problem last year too but luckily it happen during training time and not race time. Maybe next year I'll try tubeless tires. Also Rob made it out for the first time on dirt this year. Keep it going man you have about a month to get ready for Swanson.

update: The doctor thinks Hayden could come home in about 7 - 10 days. Still good news and it would even better if she was 100% off everything when she comes home. So the extra days would be nice.

update #2: Sorry things keep coming to me after I publish my post. One other thing I wanted to share was a write up on the Branched Oak 12 hour night race a few years ago. It was from Jeff Kerkove and after reading it I'm really looking forward for this race. Of course I won't be riding 21 laps or whatever Jeff did but the night race idea sounds fun. I just hope I can find lights.
