Right now Jackie and I are switching off going to Omaha. I have the weekend and Wednesday and Jackie has the other 4 days. Not a bad setup but that will change once Jackie can start nursing Hayden. Well that change started on Thursday. When I went up on Wednesday Hayden had made a bunch of steps forward. First it was her feeding, instead of getting fed over 2 hour periods she was getting fed over 1 hour periods. Now she's at 30 min. Which is great because now we know she can handle eating like a normal baby. Now since she is doing well with that Jackie can start feeding her now. It might take sometime for Hayden to get use to nursing but for it only being day 2 she is doing great. The next step was her breathing. She was getting some assistance from a machine that help keep her lungs open. Now that is gone and all she is getting is a little oxygen. There are times when she is breathing 100% on her own but not to often. But the amount of air she is getting is very little. And the last step was her sleeping arrangements. She has been in an incubator since day one, but now she is in a real crib. I still can't believe that she is in a crib. Its been such a long road and to finally get to that point meant the world. One of the things they check when baby is in the crib is how they can hold their temp. Well she's still in the crib so her temp is fine.
So now all we really need is for her to start nursing. If she gets that down we might be able to come home. I guess even if she needs some help with her breathing they have machine they give to us to take home. I guess someone told Jackie it could be a couple of weeks for us to go home but we don't want to get our hopes up either.
Here are some new pictures of Hayden.
Oh as for the Nine in the title. Like I was saying before it was a good week. About a month ago I sold my stumpy for a new ride. Well I wasn't sure when my bike would come in so I was thinking about riding a different bike. Below is what I was going to ride but after today I will be riding bike #2. Thanks again to the guys at the shop for getting it ready to go for this weekend. I can't wait to try some dirt trails.

That is a good week. Hope Hayden makes it home soon. Can't wait to see how the bike handles this weekend.
Great news!
That is a sweet bike. And light! I'll be interested in checking out that fork. I have been mulling around getting one for El Mariachi.
