Today I finally got out to ride some trails. Its been hard to get out lately but thankfully my mom was able to come down and hang out with Jackie and the kids while I ran around town trying to catch up on my to do list. Jackie has been doing well lately as long as she doesn't do anything. I'm not sure how she does it but she's doing a great job.
I was also able to ride out at Branched Oak today for a few laps with Harp, Justin, and Jason. It was great to see everyone again and its was also great to finally ride some dirt. Last time I rode was November 4th. To long but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Anyway The trail was great, little slimy in spots but not to bad.
I did have one spot of the trail where I lost my handling a bit. After climbing out of the saddle and trying to sit back down my shorts(yes I'm still wearing basketball shorts but that will soon change) got caught on my seat so while I tried to fix everything I was hanging onto my handlebars with one hand and grabbed the wrong brake. Well I went over, but it wasn't as bad as it looked. Jason came around and saw the aftermath of it all with me on the ground and my bike up side down. A few little scratches on me and so far the bike looks ok. I need to clean the mud off first to make sure.
After riding about 20 miles I started to feel it later that night. Today I'm still a little sore but I'm glad I got the extra miles in. Riding outdoors is so much better than the trainer. By the looks of the temps for next week I'll be back on my trainer. Oh well.

surprising how the weather changes. Yesterday riding in shorts and today it's frigid out. As soon as we get the gear we need to get out more even if it is just on gravel.
You got to love Nebraska weather.
I'm all for the gravel as long as the temps are higher than 20.
