ONE TO GO

Well looks like it should be dry for the rest of the week which means the race will go on this weekend. I was able to get out of work early yesterday so I could head out to Manawa to check it out and because rain and hail were in the forecast for the Omaha area later in the day. The trail was dry, tacky, and maybe two wet spots. In other words the trail was fine. Manawa is a fun trail to ride. It's flat but has many technical areas to keep it interesting. They have three different areas to ride. The trails were marked green(wilderness like) blue(logs and rocks to go over) and black(didn't try them) and I'm guessing we'll be doing a little bit of blue and green for the race. Maybe the sport and expert will try some blacks. Anyway Manawa is a fun trail to ride for being flat, and one ther thing that Manawa had that Wilderness doesn't are seesaws. I didn't have enough courage to try them yesterday but I might have to some day.

Last week I was able to finish third in the Capitol City Race at Branched Oak lake area 7. I really didn't like area 7 the first few times I rode it but now I'd have to say it's a fun trail to ride. Fast Dan got first again, Jason got 4th and Justin got 6th. In sport Harp even with tire problems got 2nd in his class. Robb R got 1st in his class and Rob G got 6th. Congrats to all. This week I'll be trying to get a few rides in and not over do it like I did last week. Which means no running for me this week. Also I want to thank Millhouse for the chain love web site. Lots of cool stuff for a cheap price. Maybe by next year I'll actually look like I belong on a bike.
