The 08 season is over now. I had a great time racing and meeting new people along the way. I can't wait till 09. I might try a cycle cross race yet this year but other than that just take it easy for at least about a month or so. I want to race sport next year so I need to put some extra time in this winter to get ready.
Next weekend the fam and I will be heading to Colorado to visit family and ride some trails. Well I'll be riding and I'm hoping my brother-in-law will join me. With the season over now this trip came at the right time. I can actually ride the trails and not worry about the time and how hard I need to ride for training. It should be a fun and relaxing weekend and I can't wait.
As for the last race I came in second behind Dan. Jason got third and Millhouse got 6th. It was a fun course to race and I would like to get out there again to check out some of the other section of the trails that we didn't ride. For the series points I was able to come in second behind Dan and I believe Jason is in third and Millhouse in 4th. I did better than I thought I would entering the season this year but it might be a few years before I might see another medal. The sport class is going to be tough next year but it will also be fun to ride with Harp and the other guys from beginners this year.
Since I want to do sport next year I need to figure out how and when I should train. With a baby on the way it will be tough to find time. Which means I might have to get up early or stay up late to get time in. I'm working on getting a trainer right now and that should help when I can't get out. The main thing is family first bike second. 2009 is going to be a exciting and crazy year for us. I can't wait.
The last thing I'm going to write about is the Huskers. I went to the game last week and can't believe we lost to VT. VT is good but you can't spot them 9 point in the beginning and expect to win. I think in the next couple years we should be a better team under Bo. As long as he can get the players in we should be fine. So far I'm going to the game this weekend and I hope we can do what we've been doing the the last 30 years. I believe back in 78 Nebraska was rated in the top 5, maybe we can return the favor this Saturday. GO BIG RED
One more last thing, who's all going to the banquet on the 18th? I believe the ride starts at 3:30. Free food and single track riding at Platte River. Sounds like a good time to me.
