After the first race of the season I was excited to get back to training to better myself for the next race. What was nice is that I had a month to train for it. The bad but good thing is that our house sold. Good for us bad for training. Since the house sold it’s been all house work this month and my training went downhill. But I will have to say after most of the month ride less the last two weeks I was able to get some miles in. Last week I got two days on the stationary bike at work and two days at Platte. This week I got two rides on the gravel, so at least the riding I could get in came closer to race day. Still it seems like every time I went riding I always felt I should be doing more. Jackie was thinking of getting a trainer for me for father’s day. Well it would be from the kids. If I had a trainer and I have limit time of riding I can always ride more later in the evening after the kids are in bed. The other thing I need to do is find a bike to put on it. After talking to Harp about his trainer it sounds like it would be nice if I could have a separate bike for the trainer and also one with a road type tire on it for sound purposes. Anyway I have an old trek 820 that a friend let me use before I got my rockhopper. I might see if he would let me use it a little while longer, then all I need is a different tire.
This weekend is the race at Swanson, the forecast calls for rain which could make a muddy race. I heard that last year it was muddy but they still did the race. It would be cool to ride in the mud but since I haven't ever ridden the course it might not be a great ride after all. Still after the month I had I'm ready to ride some new trails. Even with the lack of training this month I'm still excited for the race on Saturday. I think I'm just excited to ride a new trail, I hear it’s a fun trail to ride.

I'm not sure I'm that excited to rid in a muddy race, but I'm up for anything if they run it.
I'm sure you will do great! You're in great shape and that has to be at least 70% of it.
