BAD CHAIN

The title tells it all. I got out to the lake little before 7 on Saturday and as I was hitting my first climb I thought my chain fell off but to my surprise when I got off my bike it was broken. The nice thing was the hill I was climbing was right next to a gravel road and the road was right next to the start of the trail. The bad thing was that my car was about 3 miles away. I only have a state park sticker for my Trailblazer and not my HHR. If I had cash on me I might of bought a 1 day pass but I didn't.

Anyway so instead of getting about 4 laps in on the race trail I only got about 1/2 of a lap. It was a real let down for me because I never know when I can get out to train. I did see lots of road racers on my walk back to the car. Harp and Dan was racing at 9 but I wasn't able to watch to see how they did.

I know at least it happen now and not on race day. But that still doesn't make me feel better.

A few pictures before the break down.

Man that sucks. Like you said though better to have it happen now instead of the first lap of the race. Did you get a new one put on yet?

I had some extra links from a different chain I had and added what I was missing from that. But the more I think about it maybe I should get a new one.

It might not be a bad idea to get a new one. I think a Shimano chain is like $25-$30 online. Maybe Harp can get you a good deal on one localy.
